CAT4 Testing

Now that children are back in school, the Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4) helps teachers understand how students in Years 4, 6, and 9 learn and solve problems. It isn’t something children need to study for—CAT4 simply looks at thinking skills like patterns and reasoning. The results give teachers helpful insight so they can better support each student throughout the year.

CAT4 Test Dates — Cayman Islands (Years 4, 6, and 9)

• Assessment Window: 1–30th September 2026
• Who is tested: Students in Years 4, 6, and 9

Format: Schools schedule CAT4 sessions internally during the month

Notes:

• Schools typically run CAT4 in morning blocks during the first two weeks of September.
• Students do not need to study; it is a reasoning‑skills assessment.
• Results are used for learning‑support planning and transition‑year profiling.
