Harbour-side laughs, stories after dark and the first Christmas lights: November gives Cayman plenty of reasons to head out. This month's picks bring together family outings, live performances, a little wellness and an afternoon made for catching up over brunch. Fill the calendar with something different, from cheering on cardboard boats to spending a Saturday night with live music.
3–6 November
Give the usual evening routine a break. Gimistory brings audiences together for folklore, humour and music, with Caymanian food adding to the occasion. Follow the storytelling through George Town, East End and West Bay, or save Friday for the ghostly Duppy Story Night finale at Pedro St. James. It is a chance for different generations to enjoy an evening of island imagination together.
7 November
Some boats are built for speed. These ones are built from cardboard. Find a spot along the waterfront and cheer as teams put their homemade vessels to the test, with inventive designs and wobbly progress making the race as entertaining from shore as it is on the water. A playful Pirates Week outing for families, friends and anyone who appreciates a little friendly chaos.
7 November
An afternoon of feeling good need not mean leaving the family behind. Explore fitness and wellness activities, browse local vendors and enjoy music and food while younger visitors have fun in the kids’ zone. With entertainment and prizes also on the programme, this free community festival makes trying something new an easy weekend plan.
14 November
Swap an ordinary Saturday evening for Christmas lights beside the water. Browse the holiday market, take in the tree lighting atmosphere and join the community singalong led by Cayman Music School performers. The evening also includes an attempt to set the Cayman Islands National Caroling Record—an extra reason to bring the family and add a few voices to the festivities.
19 – 21 November
Give the streaming queue a night off and take a seat for live music, dance and drama. St. Ignatius students bring Fame: The Musical to the stage in a production full of ambition and performance energy. Choose an evening show for a night out with friends or the Saturday matinee for an afternoon at the theatre, while supporting young local talent.
21 November
Gather the brunch group and give lunch a little more room in the diary. This all-inclusive lawn party pairs a Caribbean-style buffet with drinks and alcohol-infused desserts, with pink outfits setting the mood. A sociable pick for friends who enjoy dressing up, taking their time and making an afternoon of it.
28 November
Round up the friends who always say they need a night out. Rotary Central’s annual Music Extravaganza brings several acts together for an evening of live music, with Ratskyn, Stuart Wilson & Love Culture, Heat and the Spark! Music Band youth showcase on the advertised line-up. Ticket proceeds support Rotary Central community projects, giving the night a purpose beyond the stage.
29 November
Finish the month with a downtown wander and plenty to stop and admire. Classics, exotics, trucks and Jeeps come together for an evening meet, with coffee, food and music rounding out the atmosphere. Car enthusiasts can take a closer look, while families and friends can enjoy a relaxed outing that also supports local charities.
