The Cayman Islands National Gallery's New Classes for Christmas

 

December, and everything wonderful that it brings, is officially upon us. A time full of bright lights, tasty treats and gifts under the tree, the holiday season is especially important to those some of use hold dearest: the islands' children. The following creativity workshops, which are being hosted by the National Gallery this upcoming Saturday, December 13th, are perfect for the littles ones to partake in while they await the big day...only 16 days left to go!

 

Christmas Collage Workshop

Time: 10:30am – 12:15pm

Venue: North Pole Village, The National Gallery

Fee: $50.00 (materials included)

 

The gallery's own Sarah McDougall is hosting this workshop, which teaches attendees all about the art of collage. Children will create a festive collage from materials like buttons, ribbons, wrapping paper, beads and more, which will then be transferred to a canvas. The perfect Christmas gift or display, it's sure to be cherished for years to come.

 

Personalized Christmas Gift Bags Workshop

Time: 3:00pm – 4:45pm

Venue: North Pole Village, The National Gallery

Fee: $50.00 (materials included)

 

Nothing completes a gift more than a personalized gift bag! During this class, kids let their imaginations run wild as they decorate white gift bags for Christmas. The available materials will include markers, wrapping paper, rubber stamps, paint and ribbons and attendees will be guided by the talented Dinah Green.

 

Festive Origami Workshop

Time: 1:00pm – 2:45pm

Venue: North Pole Village, The National Gallery

Fee: $35.00 (materials included)

 

The art of paper folding, origami is both timeless and stunning. During this workshop, attendees will learn how to create a range of holiday-themed decorations, all from squares of festively decorated paper. Taught by Anne Goulden, origami decorations are great for displaying at home and giving to others.

 

The National Gallery's holiday workshops are the perfect way for excited islanders to prepare for the season. Open to guests between the ages of 7 and 13, they're also a great way for children to get out, get social and a get creative. Find out more about what's happening at the NGCI here.
