Children's rights to education and a life free of poverty is important in not only the Cayman Islands, but worldwide. Plan, a children's development organization founded over 75 years ago, promotes these rights in developing countries worldwide, across Asia, the Americas and Africa. An independent institution, Plan has no governmental, political or religious affiliations.
On June 16th, 2014, the Day of the African Child, the organization is launching “10 Days to Act,” a call for global action to increase investment in education. An effective way to fight poverty, 57 million of the world's children do not have access to primary school. At the end of the 10 days, on June 26th, 2014, a Global Partnership for Education conference will be hosted in Brussels and attended by the world's governments.
By supporting 10 days of global action, and signing the petition to encourage governments to commit to basic education for all children, you can make a difference. Visit the website and watch the video below to learn more.
